RESEARCH PROJECT INVESTIGATOR AWARDS

Applications will be accepted in fall 2018 for funding May 1, 2019 - October 31, 2021

A Funding Opportunity Announcement will be forthcoming.

ANNOUNCEMENT SUMMARY

The Institutional Development Award (IDeA) Program endeavors to stimulate research at institutions in states that have not traditionally received significant levels of research funding from the NIH.  The IDeA Program broadens the geographic distribution of NIH funding for competitive biomedical and behavioral research by enhancing the research capabilities of institutions in eligible states.  As an IDeA state, Oklahoma's IDeA Network of Biomedical Research Excellence (OK-INBRE) seeks to enhance biomedical research at institutions in the OK-INBRE network.

OK-INBRE is requesting applications for Research Project Investigator (RPI) awards.    The proposed project must align with one of the biomedical research themes of the OK-INBRE program: Cancer, Developmental Biology, or Infectious Diseases.  Full-time, tenure track faculty (or equivalent) at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center (OUHSC) or the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation (OMRF) are eligible.  Awards are anticipated to be funded at up to $100,000 per year in direct costs.

The awards will be made for a 2.5 year project period, with the understanding that these awardees will be eligible to compete for continued support if eligible, pending continued NIH support for the OK-INBRE program.

Questions regarding this OK-INBRE opportunity can be sent to Darrin Akins (darrin-akins@ouhsc.edu) or Dawn Hammon (dhammon@osrhe.edu).
